Intuitive Beekeeping
Sal follows a low-intervention approach, often called intuitive or natural beekeeping. He builds his hives and visits them only when necessary, usually just once or twice a year to collect a small amount of honey. Most of the honey is left for the bees to support their health and sustainability. His focus is on creating an environment where bees can thrive naturally, with minimal disturbance.
Beekeeping Tours & Learning Experiences
Visitors to the farm can join Sal for immersive beekeeping tours that include:
- Learning how bees build and organize their combs
- Observing eggs, larvae, nectar storage, and honey production
- Identifying the queen bee and understanding her role in the hive
- Viewing bees safely through special hive windows, without opening the hives
These tours are family-friendly, and children are especially welcome. The safe and interactive setup allows guests of all ages to get up close to the fascinating world of bees.
