Bangor Ranch Vineyard & Winery

Nestled in the scenic hills, Bangor Ranch Winery is a place where great wine, genuine hospitality, and a down-to-earth atmosphere come together. Owned and operated by Victoria Blake, this woman-owned and woman-run winery has been steadily growing its reputation since Victoria and her family purchased the property in 2022.

A Passion for Wine and Community

Victoria’s journey with Bangor Ranch began with a dream to bring the “ranch” spirit back into the winery experience. She crafts estate-grown wines from Petit Sirah, Primitivo (a clone of Zinfandel), Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon—wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Sierra Foothills. This year marks an exciting milestone, as the first estate bottles from the 2022 harvest are now ready to be enjoyed.

While red wines are made on-site, guests can also enjoy a selection of white wines sourced from trusted local winemakers. In addition to wine, Bangor Ranch produces extra virgin olive oil from 85 olive trees on the property, offering visitors another taste of the land’s bounty.

Wine Tasting with a Personal Touch

At Bangor Ranch, wine tasting is a welcoming, educational experience—and it’s always free. Victoria, who completed her graduate studies in viticulture at UC Davis, loves teaching guests about the winemaking process, from vineyard to bottle. Whether it’s explaining how tannins change when exposed to oxygen or answering questions about the wine business, every visit is a chance to learn something new while enjoying handcrafted wines.

Events, Tours, and Local Flavor

The tasting room is open on weekends—currently Saturdays during the summer—but Bangor Ranch is more than just a weekend stop. Seasonal events bring people together for barrel tastings, winemaker dinners, music, and art in the vineyard. The winery participates in Butte County wine tours, poker runs, and other collaborative events with neighboring wineries, including Hickman Family Vineyard & Distillery.

Future plans include more live music, art-focused gatherings, and expanded wine-and-food pairing experiences. The atmosphere is intentionally relaxed—whether you arrive in hiking boots or on a Harley, you’ll feel right at home.

A Different Kind of Wine Country

Victoria is clear about her philosophy: Bangor Ranch is not Napa or Sonoma—it’s the Sierra Foothills, with its own character, climate, and charm. The hotter days and distinct soil conditions give the wines a robust personality. Here, you’ll meet winemakers who are farmers first, people who value relationships as much as the wine they pour.

Woman-Owned, Woman-Run

One of the winery’s proudest distinctions is that it’s led entirely by women. Victoria works closely with assistant winemaker Sarah Miele, a talented and driven young professional who has quickly become an integral part of the winemaking process. Together, they are building something special—combining expertise, passion, and a shared vision for producing high-quality wines in a welcoming setting.
